Monday, July 4th: Women and Their Allies in Tampa, Florida March for Abortion and Reproductive Rights

Tampa, FL – On July 4th, 2022, at 10 AM people across Tampa Bay will take to downtown Tampa in a rally and march to demand an end to the dangerous, escalating attacks on reproductive rights and freedoms in this country. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court and the 15-week abortion ban already passed in the Florida legislature, groups from across the Bay are joining to protest and demand an end to this persecution and prevent future legislation from being introduced. Per Clarence Thomas’s concurring opinion, this decision opens the door to further attacks on marriage equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and access to contraceptives across the country. This is not just an abortion rights rally, this is a human rights rally.

The action in Tampa is organized by a coalition of groups both formal and informal listed below:

· Black Lives Matter: Tampa

· Tampa Ladies Heights Happy Hour

· The Democratic Progressive Caucus of Tampa Bay

· Fierce Tampa Warriors (FTW)

· Florida for Change

· Project No Labels

· Common Ground Florida

· WMNF Radio
